What is SEO?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid ( or “organic” ) search results. Other forms of search engine marketing (SEM) target paid listings.
In general, the earlier (or higher on the page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, news search and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a website a degree of “web presence”. Because your competition, market, and website search engine’s algorithms are always changing, SEO is a necessary and ongoing action in order to keep or improve how high your business is listed in search engine results.
My Marketing considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content and associated page coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Optimizing a website may also involve increasing the number of incoming links and/or inbound links in improving site listing placement — there are many methods which we use, in union, to be successful.
Once a site is optimized, the speed and success of the SEO efforts is heavily dependent upon a few main factors: size of market, strength of competition online, and a company’s budget. My Marketing will create a SEO plan that meets your business’s needs and budget.
